Information Technology

At The Sele School we consider computing to be a key feature of education for the 21st century. We are well resourced in terms of ICT facilities, having 3 dedicated ICT suites and an additional computing area for use by our sixth form students. Computing is an integral element of studies in subject areas across the curriculum and several faculties benefit from their own standalone computing suites as well.

Key Stage 3 students have timetabled lessons where they are taught digital literacy and skills such as creating spreadsheets and emailing. At KS4 we currently have students studying  BTEC Technical Awards in Creative Digital Media Production and Digital IT and at KS5, students are currently studying a  Level 3 BTEC in Creative Digital Media. These options are under review and further information will be available shortly.

For the well-being and safety of our students, we recognise E-safety as a priority and  every year parents/carers are invited in to learn how they can support  keeping their children safe on line.

Homework is published on our partner platform 'Showmyhomework' , with a link to this available on our school website. Many subjects also provide online resources and revision aids including MyMaths, SamLearning, Kerboodle and GCSEPod.
